Ko Tainui te waka,
Tainui is my canoe,
Ko Ngāti Hinerangi te iwi,
Ngāti Hinerangi is my tribe,
Ko Hinerangi te hapū,
Hinerangi is my sub-tribe,
Ko Mātuakore Mac Koperu te rangatira,
Mātua Kore Mac Kōperu is my chief,
Ko Tangata, ko Tamopango, ko Hinerangi Tāwhaki, ko Te Ōhāki ōku marae.
Tangata, Tamōpango, Hinerangi Tāwhaki, and Te Ōhāki are my marae.
Ko Te Wereiti tōku maunga,
Te Wereiti is my mountain,
Ko Mangapiko te rerenga o te waihau,
Mangapiko is the source of the waters I descend from,
Kainga ināianei ana ko Tāmaki Makaurau tōku.
Currently, Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) is my home.
